These can vary by trim level and build date, and some configurations use a tongue profile incompatible with generic extenders.
The rule of thumb: if your Renault was registered after 2022 or is an EV/E-Tech hybrid, confirm with us before ordering.

The Renault Clio is one of the most popular cars in UK history, and both the older Campus edition (2006) and the current fifth-generation Clio (2021) use standard Type A buckles throughout. The Captur Esprit Alpine is the performance-oriented trim of the updated Captur, featuring Renault’s E-Tech full hybrid system. While the standard 2019 Captur is straightforward, the updated 2025 Captur with the Alpine trim and hybrid powertrain uses the newer platform and should be confirmed before ordering.

Step 1: Pull the seat belt out and look at the metal tongue on the end of the webbing.
Step 2: Look at the profile of the tongue. A standard Type A tongue is flat and uniform. A newer-profile tongue may have raised shoulders, a slightly different rectangular opening, or a different overall shape.
Step 3: If you have already tried an extender and it does not click in — note whether the tongue enters the housing fully but does not lock (width issue) or whether it stops partway in (shoulder/profile issue). This helps us identify the exact problem.
